I designed this spread for our 2020 October print issue cover story. Our cover story is centered on how Jefferson staff and students with mental health issues and learning disabilities are coping with the pandemic. For this spread in particular, I brought in my data journalism background to help solve our problem of a lack of good quality pictures resulting from the pandemic. I conducted all of the research displayed on this spread, garnering data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the United Nations Education, Scientific, and Cultural Organization, The Wall Street Journal, Mckinsey, Brookings Institution, and Market Research.
This is a timeline of the spread's changes, the edits for which were suggested by Ms. Harris and Pete.
